I was so excited to take a break in Albany with such good company. Paul and Chris had to work but fortunately Chris works from home as of right now because he wasn’t feeling well. I stayed in bed for awhile, just stretching and turning, loving every moment of it! Obviously the day I am decided to take a break the sun rose with such grace and the colors of the sky were beautiful. I knew it was going to be a gorgeous day.
It was a day to catch up on things and enjoy a movie or two. I had no qualms about resting my body. It does feel kind of odd taking a break so close to the Massachusetts line. I could technically be in Mass today if I wanted to. I felt I could take a break now and I could walk out Mass in one stretch with no rest days.
It was an uneventful day relatively speaking when thinking about the whole trip. Chris and I did go out for lunch at their favorite pizza place which was amazing, giant slices. We were able to speak more about his job in politics and how he sees where this country is headed. When we made it back to their place he went back to work for a little and I did some things on my website until Paul came home. Paul and Chris invited me to join them a few floors up to their friends place where they were cooking dinner and watching Jeopardy. I gladly accepted and we made our way up a few floors to join their friends. We joined two of his friends who were already cooking dinner. One of their friends, Cami, was studying as well with one of the biggest text books I have ever seen. She was studying to go into the medical field. I told her “God Bless You for wanting to do that kind of work.”. She smiled and laughed and said she loved it. She did not mind blood and all that stuff that comes with it. Wow, I still do not know how people do it.
On that note I volunteered to go grab some beer for the group as a thank you for the hospitality and invite. I made my way to a store right down the street and in no time I was back to the get together having a wonderful time listening to some new great music. After a great meal and some frustrating question posed by Jeopardy, Chris, Paul and I made our way back to their place where some PS3 was turned on and some NHL followed. For some reason, without playing videogames for 5 months, had a knack for this game and held my own for a little while. It was like hanging out with friends from back home, awesome. Being so close to home it was nice to continue to have welcoming and fun people to be around, I was not yearning to be done with trip at these moments. Couch surfing had once again provided with me with new friends.
We said goodbye that night because I was headed off early in the morning. Another city, more people, and I continue.
